12/2/2023 0 Comments 2014 honda odyssey rear wiper![]() Max picado, to arrange a visit so I can document their official response. Per the enclosed doc, I am in contact with the service manager at Honda thousand oaks, mr. She said my only course of action is to have my local Honda dealer resolve the issue. I contacted american Honda corporate at the ceo level (see attached docs) and they eventually referred me to their customer car representative, "jocelyn" - she informed me that Honda engineering has no knowledge of this issue and therefore there's no service bulletin or "fix" under consideration. Only the driver side mirror - the outside passenger mirror does not have these issues. Also, going back at least 2-3 years, all Honda vehicles with 6-cylinder engines have the same issue - Odysseys, passports, pilots, ridgelines, etc. According to local Honda dealer's service department (Honda of thousand oaks, CA) this is a "known problem" and no repair or replacement is available since even replacement mirrors distributed by Honda have the same problem. C) at night on the freeway, mirror is unusable because of severe vibration with headlights in view. B) at freeway speeds 45mph+ on smooth roads, it vibrates excessively and rapidly loses its viewing angle. Needs constant re-adjustment with power controls while driving or after vehicle is parked. This is not an old vehicle, getting a part should not take 3+ months.ĭriver's side outdoor mirror is defective - a) on irregular payment ("not smooth") at any speed, this mirror vibrates and loses its vertical and horizontal position. ![]() All the while, my wife has been driving around with a duct taped on mirror, not angled in the best position for viewing. I have received 3 emails so far from Honda simply stating that the part was still on backorder, and there is no eta. In late March, was told that Honda would follow up via email weekly on part updates. Honda never was able to determine what happened with the part, because as I was told 'there's a global parts shortage, and it's the suppliers responsibility for the part, not Honda's'. On March 14th, I called the dealership and demanded my money back on the part, until it arrived. Called Honda multiple times over the next few weeks, eventually being told on/around March 5th, that the part was 'released' to the dealership on March 3. However, I was #6 in the queue to receive the part. On/around February 27th, I was told by my customer service rep nikki that my part was upgraded to critical backorder, but that there was still no eta. By approximately February 20th, the part was still not in, and the dealer had no eta. Called Honda dealership and ordered (and paid for) replacement part on was told the part should be in within a few weeks. On February 1, 2023, I broke the side view mirror off the passenger side door while backing into my parents driveway (the mirror hit a bush on the side of their house).
